Psyc380: Psychopathology

A class on everything that goes wrong with the human brain, and where the threshold lies for diagnosis. Material isn't too difficult, some overlap with other 300-level courses. A great way to complete your second writing requirement!

Took this Fall '07, really wasn't interested going into the course thinking it was unscientific (too intangible to study). However, the class was incredibly stimulating, and attempts to explain many parts of the "Black Box." Neat examples of mental illness such as Capgras syndrome, and savants.

Psyc318: Physiological Psychology

This class is an extremely interesting yet difficult class. It seems necessary to have taken an introductory Physiology class before jumping into this one. Some of the topics studied include eating/drinking behaviors, learning/memory, and Neurological disorders.

A very cellular-based course, took this Spring '07. Material deals with how the different parts of the brain (yes, you have to know them all) direct the body, and how the body talks back.
